Torino: reference-free isoform discovery learns RNA processing from coverage
anshulkundaje · x · 2026-10-25
Yang Li's team presents Torino, which learns RNA processing events directly from RNA-seq coverage signals without any annotations, enabling reference-free isoform discovery.
They used it to study isoform evolution and link previously unannotated isoforms to disease; the figure shows genotype-specific coverage at rs4074793 in liver alongside distinct processing patterns. Led by cfbuenabad.
