After his friend lost $14,000 gambling, he built Betzy — an AI that tells you not to bet
Puzzled-Effort-9319 · reddit · 2026-10-25
A developer shares the story behind Betzy: his best friend J went from $20 Sunday bets to losing his $14,000 house deposit in four months, while every betting app on his phone was engineered to make the next bet easier — none ever asked if he was okay.
Betzy is an agentic sports betting assistant that reads news, stats and live odds each morning and returns a short plan with every reason written out — sometimes the plan is simply "don't bet today." Harm-reduction features: suggested amounts shrink when it detects loss-chasing, weekly limits are enforced, self-lockout options (a week, a month, forever), and it flags the weakest leg of a big parlay before you place it. Live now on web, iOS and Android.
