EPFL's LogSync: a 4x2mm brain implant chip decoding cognitive states under 200 microwatts
petrusenko_max · x · 2026-10-25
EPFL built LogSync, an implantable chip measuring just 4x2 mm that records brain activity and extracts cross-region synchrony and oscillation biomarkers. Machine learning uses these biomarkers to distinguish cognitive and emotional states and trigger stimulation in a closed loop, all while drawing under 200 microwatts of power—a notable step for low-power implantable neural interfaces.
