Yacine on cyber risk in the AI era: just delete your data
yacineMTB · x · 2026-10-25
Former OpenAI engineer Yacine posted a long take on cyber risk in the AI era, boiling his advice down to one line: delete your data.
His argument: individuals are already constantly surveilled, and getting hacked personally changes little—you're an ant in a battle between gods. But ants form colonies: once you matter to your company or country, years of private messages become potential kompromat, a vector to turn you against the collective you belong to.
He notes friends are already downloading their full historic data (including old MSN logs) and feeding it to Claude or similar models to audit themselves. As AI makes every archived record parseable, pointing the model at yourself will soon extend to pointing it at each other.
