Gemini Flash-Lite as a meeting copilot brain: real test results, what worked and what broke
DeskSignalAI · reddit · 2026-10-24
A hands-on test of building a live meeting copilot with Pluely (an overlay that transcribes mic + system audio into your own API key, no bot joins the call). GPT-4o-mini + Whisper gave weak answers and shaky transcription; switching only the answer model to Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite made answers clearly more relevant and technical, within free API limits. The biggest win came from a system prompt forcing three-line output (NEED / SAY / ASK NEXT). Transcription remains the weak point — duplicated segments, mangled terms; changing mics helped more than settings. Disclosure: Pluely offers a free Dev Pro license if the post hits 5,000 views; tested on practice questions only, not real meetings.
