One-page CLAUDE.md work map: a 10-minute prompt recipe to make AI agents find your files

A Reddit user shares a practical recipe for making AI agents effective in a small business: a new hire can ask around, but an agent can't — so give it a one-page map of where your work lives.
Part 1 (about 10 minutes):
- In the paid Claude desktop app, add your main work folder or connect Google Drive
- Use a provided prompt that reads only file/folder names, then asks you a few questions (what the business does, where else work lives — email, Slack, CRM — and what's known but unwritten)
- It generates a one-page CLAUDE.md (name it AGENTS.md for Codex/Cursor) listing the business, where each kind of thing lives, and what isn't documented
The walk test: give the agent a real first-week job like prepping for a client call; if it gets stuck, add one line to the map.
Part 2: consolidate — gradually move files into one home on the drive your team already uses, keep one copy of each fact with pointers elsewhere, leave app data in place (QuickBooks, CRM), copy before deleting. Full copy-paste prompts included for both the mapping and migration steps.
