Claude Code's native cross-session messaging mirrors the system one user built with Opus 4.5 in January

repligate notes that Claude Code now natively supports cross-session messaging, so similar to the system he built with Opus 4.5 in January that one of his sessions tried to reply using the old custom messaging tools.
The quoted post explains his setup: top-level agents can message each other synchronously (triggering a turn) or asynchronously (injected into context at the next turn start hook). He criticizes Claude Code's subagents as second-class citizens that only support hierarchical, not collaborative/bidirectional, agent interaction flows — and wonders why CC doesn't support this natively.
