GitHub dev installs his Super Mona platformer onto the Universe 2026 badge with a single Copilot prompt
martinwoodward · x · 2026-10-24
GitHub's Martin Woodward built Super Mona, an original side-scrolling platformer for the GitHub Universe 2026 badge, inspired by how good the badge's capacitive gaming controls feel. It spans 32 stages across 8 worlds, starring Mona (or rubber duck Ducky), and is MIT-licensed open source.
The installation is the notable part: connect the badge over USB-C, then give GitHub Copilot (CLI, app, or VS Code agent mode) one prompt pointing at the repo, and Copilot handles the rest. A browser-based 3D simulator lets anyone without a badge play with keyboard/gamepad and edit the MicroPython apps online.
