shadcn/ui is more than a component library — it changed how code is distributed
shadcn · x · 2026-10-24
An appreciation post for shadcn argues shadcn/ui quietly changed code distribution: one command drops source code into your project — read it, change it, own it. The registry now serves components, hooks/utils, full page blocks, config files, even Claude skills. The author built creative-ui, a personal registry of creative components and Claude skills, on top of it.
