Dev gives up on Google's Argon coding model, makes it write an apology handoff prompt
lowiqdoctor · reddit · 2026-10-24
A Reddit developer says Google's Argon coding model was terrible, partly because its usable context is only 150k-200k tokens before it compacts.
Frustrated, he had Argon write an apology handoff prompt (screenshot): the model admitted it burned ten turns on a basic expandable header, ignored existing design specs, wired scroll geometry into a feedback loop, and conceded that Claude and Codex are 'miles ahead' at real-world software engineering. His advice: don't waste time until Google fixes the harness.
