Google force-refunds a student's Google AI Pro plan, user downgraded to free tier
Trixis2 · reddit · 2026-10-24
A Sweden-based Reddit user says Google Play force-refunded their Google AI Pro student subscription (65 SEK) without them requesting it. They had upgraded from the free Plus tier to Pro for about $7, with the old tier credited into roughly 10 months of usage — likely a pricing mistake Google is clawing back. Notably, Google downgraded them straight to the normal free tier instead of Plus, with no way to re-claim the student Plus plan. The post includes a screenshot of the Swedish-language refund email.
