iOS 27.1's UIKit is a secretly forked, buggy mess, devs reveal

steipete amplifies mjtsai's blog post with a developer account claiming iOS 27.1's UIKit is a secretly maintained fork that's wildly buggy and incompatible with the main branch. Comparing the two "27.2" simulator runtimes in Xcode shows normal devices get the standard UIKit with no-op shims, while the Duo variant carries the 27.1 fork logic minus later fixes. The fork still hasn't been merged — hundreds of engineering hours spent keeping a feature secret that leaked anyway.
