MIT Team: Only 2 of 286 TB Antigen Candidates Detected on MHC-I
BrianHie · x · 2026-10-24
The Bryson Lab at MIT posted a bioRxiv preprint probing bottlenecks in presenting Mycobacterium tuberculosis antigens on MHC class I.
- Combining strong biological priors, high-throughput binding screens, and a sensitive targeted MS assay, they searched for more Mtb peptides presented on MHC-I
- Only 2 of 286 candidates were detected, revealing multiple bottlenecks constrain presentation
- Findings inform antigen discovery for TB vaccines
