Kimi K3.1 Pro Launches: Scores 55 on Artificial Analysis, Open Weights Promised by Nov 2026
Simon Willison · rss · 2026-10-24
Kimi K3.1 Pro is live on the Kimi API, with Moonshot promising full open weights by Nov 4, 2026. Pricing: $2/M input, $10/M output — same as GPT-6.1 Sol, half of Claude Opus 5.5; a "Highspeed" tier runs 2-3x faster at 2x price. Moonshot's benchmarks put it roughly level with Opus 5.5 and GPT-6 Astra, and Artificial Analysis scores it 55 — above GPT-6 Astra, Gemini 4 Argon and Claude Fable 5.1 (all 53), behind only Opus 5.5 (58). Simon Willison tested it via the Moonshot API with llm openai endpoint, comparing pelican SVGs across its low/medium/max reasoning levels against Kimi K3.
