Artist calls out Meta's Alexandr Wang over $100K spec-work bounty economics
sterlingcrispin · x · 2026-10-24
Artist sterlingcrispin publicly challenged Meta chief AI officer Alexandr Wang over a $100K flat-fee spec-work bounty targeting optimizations of an internal Meta model.
He argued the payout should be a percentage of annualized model cost savings rather than a flat $100K, estimated Meta itself burned well over $100K in a week running a fleet of agents against the same problem, and called a contest where 99.9% of participants go unpaid unethical.
