Cursor agents can now drive your desktop, and one dev warns self-verifying agents just move the quality gate

Cursor announced that agents can now control your computer, driving desktop apps like the iOS Simulator to test the features they build. petrusenkomax argues this closes a key gap: an agent that writes code and runs its own unit tests is grading itself with its own answer key, while one that taps the button in a simulator must watch it work or break.
His caveat: if the same agent drives the app and decides it looks right, the gate has merely moved—he'd still want a second pass whose only job is to say no.
