Shah's blog post documents at least 20+ ICLR 2027 submissions with apparently fabricated results — one caption literally reads "All values are simulated placeholder results and should be replaced by actual experimental outputs." Boaz Barak quipped that AIs can be more honest about papers than humans. The find reignites concerns about AI-written papers and peer review integrity.
