Fashion photographer: Nano Banana and FLUX 2/3 still fail product fidelity in commercial work
Active_Operation_546 · reddit · 2026-10-23
A fashion photographer describes the core challenge of generating images from real garments, bags, shoes and accessories: product fidelity. Images can look convincing overall, but shape, proportions, materials, textures, stitching, logos or hardware change on close inspection — unacceptable for commercial work.
- Tested Nano Banana, FLUX 2 and FLUX 3; none achieved the needed consistency and detail. Some models' output quality was too low for logos and text to even compare against originals.
- Asks the community: which models/tools best preserve a real product while changing scenes or placing it on a model? Do dedicated virtual try-on models beat general image editors, especially for bags and shoes? Do multiple reference views, product-specific training, or structured specs (measurements, materials) meaningfully help? What still needs manual correction or Photoshop compositing?
Open to commercial tools, open-source pipelines and hybrid workflows.
