FORC 2027 CFP opens, adding AI safety and alignment for the first time
thegautamkamath · x · 2026-10-23
The 8th Symposium on Foundations of Responsible Computing (FORC 2027) will be held June 2-4, 2027 at Stanford. Topics include fairness in ML, differential privacy, computational social choice, fair division, mechanism design for social good, and robustness/explainability.
AI Safety and Alignment is included as a topic for the first time. There are two submission cycles — the first deadline is November 11, with early notifications before the second deadline. A highlights track via lightweight self-nomination complements the archival program. FORC is a smaller, focused venue known for thoughtful reviews, welcoming mathematically rigorous work applying TCS, statistics, and economics to societal problems.
