Dev builds a local message bus so Claude Code, Codex and other agents can ping each other
earldennison · reddit · 2026-10-23
A developer shares a local agent message bus ("nexus"): a daemon owns each agent's pty at launch (works with Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Hermes), giving each a persistent identity that survives restarts. Agents DM each other and share threads (humans can join via CLI or browser console), subscribe to topics, and get woken by events pushed from CI webhooks, cron, or scripts — message delivery, not polling, with customizable XML output hooks. Runs headed or headless, uses existing CLI logins, no extra API keys or containers.
