PixText: a 0.95B pixel-space model fixes mangled text in AI images in 4 steps
Creepy_Astronomer_83 · reddit · 2026-10-23
A developer released PixText, a small refiner purpose-built to fix mangled words (including Chinese characters) in otherwise great AI-generated images.
- Trained directly in pixel space to avoid VAE compression destroying fine text detail — no text encoder or VAE needed
- Under 1B parameters (0.95B), refines text in just 4 sampling steps via MeanFlow
- Ships with a ComfyUI node, ready-made workflows, code on GitHub and weights on Hugging Face
Demo images show before/after comparisons on magazine-style covers, restoring garbled words like 'Nayeon' and 'crossbody' cleanly.
