IP scholar Technollama (Andres Guadamuz) has released a video explainer on the Getty Images v Stability AI lawsuit, walking through the key issues in this landmark copyright case over training data.
The Getty-watermarked outputs shown in the video are his own, generated back in 2022 when the older model still reproduced the Getty logo — the very evidence often cited as proof that the model memorized training data. "Getty, call me. Oh wait..." he quips.
