ARPA-H has awarded contracts under its ADVOCATE program to build the world's first reliable, FDA-authorized clinical agentic AI system serving as a 24/7 digital member of the cardiovascular care team. The four-year program totals $62.7 million with up to $33.7 million committed in year one. Selected teams will build patient-facing AI, a supervisory agentic AI, and a scalable deployment plan aimed at the nearly half of U.S. counties without a single cardiologist. ARPA-H estimates roughly $28 billion in annual savings across the heart failure population alone if successful.
