Dev adds local MCP server to Mac screenshot app so Claude designs from your references
Embarrassed-Ebb-740 · reddit · 2026-10-23
The developer of Ambrel, a Mac app for saving screenshots and visual references, added a local MCP server: you pick which boards to share, and Claude, Cursor, or Codex can search your captures, view the images, and read their text, links, and color palettes.
Demo: asking Claude to "design the hero in the style of my Photography board" triggers a searchcaptures call, and the model picks up the warm tones and mustard accent to apply that palette. Everything runs locally with nothing uploaded. Free 21-day trial, no account required.
