Ex-judge Bridget Mary McCormack joins Clio to build AI for courts, not just lawyers
EJWalters · x · 2026-10-23
Legal-tech company Clio is investing in judiciary-facing AI, bringing on former judge Bridget Mary McCormack alongside Pablo Arredondo and Shlomo Klapper.
- The pitch: litigants and lawyers already have AI — courts deserve it too, built with judges and clerks, not just for them;
- Clio CEO Jack Newton confirmed this is a deliberate company investment in the judiciary;
- McCormack, a former Michigan Supreme Court justice, says she's thrilled to build this at Clio.
A notable expansion of legal AI from serving lawyers to serving courts themselves.
