Cloudflare CEO: agent traffic will be 1000x human traffic in 5 years, internet needs micropayments

Cloudflare CEO Matthew Prince predicts AI agents will reshape the internet's business model over the next decade:
- Scale: "In five years, agent traffic is going to be 1000x human traffic" — noting the internet nearly collapsed when traffic merely doubled during COVID.
- Infra burden: far more servers, routers and bandwidth must be provisioned; the key question is who pays.
- Micropayments idea: agents could pay a ten-thousandth of a penny per resource access; revealing intent (e.g. telling the restaurant what you're looking for) could lower the price to free — and some sites might even pay agents to visit.
- He believes this will drive the next major change in how the internet works.
