Microsoft Research ships Flint-interactive, a language for AI-generated interactive charts
aigclink · x · 2026-10-23
Microsoft Research released Flint-interactive, extending its Flint project with a descriptive language for interactivity: AI-generated charts gain click-to-filter, brushing, cross-chart linking, and related-content highlighting without hand-written frontend code.
Key capabilities: - Interaction presets let AI quickly add filtering, brushing, and linked views (e.g., brushing countries in one scatter plot highlights them in another year's chart); - Semantic events translate user actions into meaningful data events; - Interaction interfaces wire chart operations to external app state, so clicking a product updates adjacent tables, text, and charts.
Aimed at business analysis, finance research, science, and AI data assistants. Blog and code are public.
