Thiel called it: wordcels may fare better than math and science bros in the AI era
max_paperclips · x · 2026-10-23
Riffing on Peter Thiel's claim that "wordcels" will end up better off than math and science bros, the author argues language's structure reveals and amplifies human preferences, while science and math are verifiable truth-seeking domains that AI disrupts differently.
No matter what GPT-10 can do, the author will keep shitposting: AI may achieve superpersuasion and insane insights, but it won't have the weights of his own neural network. Same reason he avoids asking AI to summarize—summarizing requires knowing his personal mental model of the content, and uploaded intelligence doesn't exist yet.
