Project NOMAD: an offline-first AI knowledge server you should set up before an outage
alex_verem · x · 2026-10-23
Project NOMAD is a self-contained, offline-first knowledge and education server packed with tools, knowledge and AI, meant to be installed via Claude Code before any internet shutdown. It runs on Debian-based systems (Ubuntu 26.04/24.04 LTS, Debian 12), installs entirely from the terminal, serves everything through a browser without a desktop environment, and needs only 5 GB disk and under 1 GB RAM for the core — content and the AI assistant drive real requirements up. Root access required.
