Pseudo-formal versions of OpenAI math proofs released with new proof-verification benchmark
tengyuma · x · 2026-10-23
Addressing the problem that AI-generated proofs are abundant but verification and human understanding don't scale, Luke Bailey's team updated their Pseudo-Formalization paper with two releases:
- A new benchmark for evaluating frontier models' math proof verification
- Pseudo-formal versions of proofs from the OpenAI math dump
Pseudo-formalization sits between natural language and formal languages like Lean, letting readers check AI-generated proofs in a different way while balancing verifiability and readability.
