Supabase adds one-command MCP servers so ChatGPT and Claude can drive your app
dshukertjr · x · 2026-10-23
Supabase announced an MCP Server block that gives your Supabase app its own MCP server, letting customers use your app from ChatGPT or Claude with the account they already have.
Highlights:
- A single command (npx shadcn@latest add .../mcp.json) copies an Edge Function into supabase/functions/mcp
- Supabase Auth handles OAuth; each tool call runs as the signed-in user, so RLS policies decide what the agent can reach — no service role key needed
- Demoed with Sizzle: a customer discovers products and generates video ads inside a Claude conversation
- You write the tools that fit your app; each tool can be a plain query
