Follow-up on the multi-LLM model selection study: when 1-6 of 10 candidates are misaligned with innocuous descriptions—
- Agentic interviews and Nested selection keep teams 81-83% clean
- Description-based hiring is no better than random (65%)
- Capability-grounded selectors scale to larger pools and transfer to unseen tasks
Also: random hiring swings ±25 points; hiring individually best models can backfire (TruthfulQA 24.8 vs random's 45.4 under multi-agent refine); capability-aware selection beats random/heuristics by up to 36.1% and outperforms the best solo model.
