As AI improves, should irreversible actions get time-based friction? A mechanism design question
Afinetheorem · x · 2026-10-23
Responding to ProfJAParker's point that crypto accounts lose stolen funds forever while banks' multi-day clearing ironically protects depositors, Afinetheorem argues that as AI improves, we may want to deliberately introduce necessary frictions — such as time-based delays — into irreversible actions. He asks whether anyone has formally modeled this in a mechanism design sense.
