Ex-Google Employee Tells BBC She's Barred from Criticizing Google 'For the Duration of My Life'

Former Google employee Sofia Liguori told the BBC: "In principle I'm not allowed to criticise Google for the duration of my life," adding that inside Google "people are scared of retaliation and putting their career at risk. You feel you are being watched, you can't speak."
AI safety researcher S. Ó hÉigeartaigh pressed back at a critic, noting that numerous current and former employees had liked the original post—an apparent tacit endorsement—and asked what exactly they claim is inaccurate. The dispute over Google's internal speech culture is gaining traction.
