PixAI has open-sourced Tagger 1.0, the anime concept tagger used to curate training data for its Tsubaki.3 model, with weights and model card on Hugging Face (pixai-labs/pixai-tagger-v1.0).
Architecture highlights
- Built on a SAM 3 ViTDet-style image encoder: 1008×1008 input, 32 blocks, leveraging high-res features to distinguish similar anime concepts
- Classification head predicts 30,877 tags spanning appearance, clothing, objects, and settings
- A small reconstruction decoder shares features during training only, preserving fine visual detail
The post also recaps Tsubaki.3, a multimodal foundation model supporting both text-to-image and in-context generation, aimed at underserved anime art needs like diverse styles, multiple characters, complex poses, and artistic camera angles.
