Anthropic donates Agent Skills standard to the Linux Foundation's Agentic AI Foundation

Anthropic donated the Agent Skills standard to the Agentic AI Foundation (AAIF) under the Linux Foundation — the vendor-neutral body it co-founded with Block and OpenAI last year that already hosts MCP — committing to keep Skills open and community-driven. Simon Willison notes he predicted this last December, and even used his blog's MCP plugin to have Claude retrieve that prediction. Skills following MCP into AAIF further cements the open-standards route.
