8-step playbook for solo founders automating repetitive work with AI agents, from a Reddit deep-dive

A Reddit long-form guide on setting up AI agents (based on Grok Bot, transferable to other tools) to run the repetitive side of a solo business:
- Map your week first: tag every recurring task as judgment/repeatable/risky; automate only repeatable ones.
- Several small agents, one job each: research, inbox, drafting, reporting — but start with one until reliable.
- Write each agent a job description: role, inputs/tools, output format, quality bar, never-do-without-approval, and when to stop and ask — the last two prevent most misbehavior.
- Ask in 5 parts: outcome, sources, constraints, deliverable, review point.
- Be careful with logins: all bots share one cloud computer, cookies and sessions included; don't sign into anything you wouldn't want every bot to use.
- Manual → saved skill → schedule: approvals on unattended runs expire in 10 minutes, so overnight jobs should draft only; approve in the morning.
- Gate anything risky: sending, publishing, purchases, deletions require asking first.
- Review weekly and cap usage: demand citations and live-source checks; only the last 20 runs are kept; set a monthly usage cap on day one.
Biggest mistakes: one catch-all agent, automating unreliable tasks, assuming agents are isolated from each other.
