Cohere_Labs · x · 2026-10-23
Cohere Labs announces the Agentic Task Ecosystem (ATE), a tagged dataset recording developer tool usage across occupations via MCP tools. The accompanying chart shows 694,411 tools in the corpus, 44.2% (306,624) too scattered to group; the 387,787 clusterable tools split into recognizable work (268,839), agent infrastructure (67,893), and consumer tools (41,776). Recognizable work further divides into subatomic (151,597, e.g. genomic/proteomic analysis) and composite (108,854, e.g. data management) themes, plus 8,388 emerging ones — a supply-side record of how agentic automation is actually taking shape.
