EdenLive 5B on RTX 5090: great backgrounds, falling-apart moving objects
Easy-Race6938 · reddit · 2026-10-23
An indie game dev tested EdenLive 5B AR via LightX2V on an RTX 5090, converting his own game footage to photorealistic style.
Results
- Backgrounds transformed surprisingly well, with some individual frames looking quite realistic.
- Moving objects fell apart: they turned into things not in the original game or became barely recognizable; motion and shape fidelity lagged far behind static scenes.
Setup: DiT + Proxy with INT8 ConvRot, T5 in BF16 with CPU offloading, standard SDPA, torch.compile and CUDA Graphs off, inference at 1280×704@24FPS exported to 720p/30FPS, 23 GiB VRAM, 4m46s for two segments. The author notes this isn't the optimized real-time setup, hasn't ruled out his footage as the cause, and posted side-by-side comparison video while asking for others' results on high-motion game footage.
