Arc browser to shut down December 22, 2026 as team shifts to AI browser Dia

The Browser Company announced Arc will sunset on December 22, 2026. The stated reason: keeping a browser secure requires constant dedicated work that is only increasing in the AI age, so engineering and security resources will focus entirely on Dia, which was built from the ground up for modern security standards. Arc members can seamlessly migrate passwords, bookmarks, extensions, history, Spaces, Folders and Tab Groups into Dia, which the company says now beats Arc on stability, speed, and security benchmarks.
