Tesla and NVIDIA are backing a roughly $2.8B expansion of Samsung Electro-Mechanics' advanced FC-BGA substrate production in South Korea.
- Tesla: 1.1 trillion won, plus a five-year supply agreement running 2029–2033
- NVIDIA: 2.6 trillion won
FC-BGA substrates are critical packaging components for high-performance chips powering autonomous driving, Optimus robots, and large-scale AI compute — a sign Tesla is moving deeper into upstream physical infrastructure for its autonomy push.
