Ares Founder: Prediction Markets Don't Have a Liquidity Problem, They Have a Discovery Problem
morganlai · x · 2026-10-22
Ares founder Morgan Lai, an early Pumpfun investor, argues in an interview that prediction markets don't have a liquidity problem but a discovery problem — liquidity is fundamentally a distribution issue. Unlike stocks or memecoins, prediction markets are tied to specific events, interests and moments in time, so the challenge is getting the right markets in front of the right people at the right time. Her takeaway from memecoins: traders weren't just trading tokens, they were constantly repricing narratives and information as reality changed, and prediction markets turn that behavior into an explicit asset class. Ares is building a social trading layer to solve the distribution problem.
