Non-coder builds roguelike BOB with Claude's $20 plan: 600 items, six floors, due 2027
Blake9712 · reddit · 2026-10-22
- A Reddit user with zero development experience is building BOB, a roguelite made with Claude: six floors, 35 seamlessly connected levels per floor, and 500–600 items at launch (a third with gameplay-changing abilities), mechanically inspired by The Binding of Isaac, set across a 60s world and a fantasy world.
- They work 1–2 hours a day on the $20 Claude plan, built an asset editor first, then outsourced some assets to Claude and hand-edited them. Floor one is done; a playable demo is planned this year, full release late 2027.
- They openly discuss unreliable save systems (lost assets, resurrected deletions) and are asking for feedback before building the Vietnam level.
