Tesla starts early Optimus production on Fremont high-volume line
CyberRobooo · x · 2026-10-22
Per Tesla's Q3 earnings call: early Optimus production has started on the high-volume line in Fremont. Tesla says these are the first production-quality bots and the process is ready for a commercial product.
The ramp is expected to be slow and bumpy, targeting 20,000 units per week by end of 2027. Design is still changing, especially the hands; AI5 chip integration is planned around April 2027; external deliveries around end of next year, industrial first.
The poster also teases a demo of non-preprogrammed tasks within a month or two — i.e., everyone will see Optimus v3 by end of December at the latest.
