ARK's Sam Korus: Tesla Optimus academy and David Silver's super learner converge
skorusARK · x · 2026-10-22
ARK Invest analyst Sam Korus notes that Tesla's Optimus academy and David Silver's "super learner" concept represent two frontier teams converging on a similar approach to training robots — worth paying attention to.
His argument draws on robotaxi history: Robotaxi was close, then had to be "eaten by software 2.0" (end-to-end learning) to cross the finish line. Impressive robot AI demos exist today, but will generalization likewise require being eaten by "experience 2.0"? That, he suggests, may be the watershed for general-purpose robots.
