Indie Dev Building Full-Stack AI Infra Primitives Says X's Gatekeeping Beat LinkedIn's Reach
ShimazuSystems · x · 2026-10-22
Indie developer ShimazuSystems says his from-scratch AI infrastructure work got almost no traction on X while LinkedIn (with only 80 connections) gave him better reception.
His diagnosis: 90% of influential X accounts answer to investors or employers, plus outright snobbery — "how could you possibly build infrastructure without a high-paying lab job or VC money?" He has argued since March that it was "infra time," and lists his self-built primitives: base HTTP clients, parsers, optimized matrix-multiply/attention kernels, grapheme utilities, video codecs, SSE streaming, model routers, storage and math libraries.
