Claude desktop regression: working folders stop auto-connecting after Cowork merge
ajshackman · ghdev · 2026-10-15
A regression report on anthropics/claude-code: after the October 2026 desktop update that merged Cowork into the main Claude app, new Windows sessions no longer auto-connect the working folder based on standing instructions. Users must manually request access and approve a prompt each session, and the grant only lasts for that session. The issue (labeled bug/regression/platform:windows) links to several earlier folder-mounting regressions; the workaround is requesting folder access manually at each session start.
