Meta Superintelligence Labs released a paper and open-sourced Muse Glimmer 30B, a causal language model purpose-built for autonomous agentic tasks on consumer hardware.
- Distilled from Meta's larger Muse Spark and trained on synthetic agent runs in mock apps; accepts text and image inputs
- 4-bit quantized weights fit in under 20 GB, running locally on a single RTX 5090 with no cloud infrastructure
- Scores 75.5 on the multi-tool MCPAtlas benchmark vs 54.2 for Gemma4-31B and 62.5 for Qwen3.6-27B, though it trails Qwen3.6-27B on OSWorld-Verified (65.9 vs 75.6)
- Released under Apache 2.0, integrating multi-step reasoning, reliable tool use and failure recovery in one local model
