BatchBench leaderboard released: AI cell microscopy models degrade sharply on new data sources
gklambauer · x · 2026-10-22
The team behind BatchBench released a new leaderboard showing that AI systems for cell microscopy imaging deteriorate strongly when evaluated on images from new sources — a classic domain shift/batch effect problem. Domain adaptation techniques ameliorate the degradation. The authors quip that LLMs perform poorly on this task too. Leaderboard is publicly available.
