Tinker ships StableReinforce to keep off-policy RL runs from suddenly collapsing
simonguozirui · x · 2026-10-22
Tinker released StableReinforce, a new method targeting a classic off-policy RL pain point: runs can suddenly collapse due to async RL staleness or numerical mismatch. The method keeps RL training stable even when learning drifts from sampling.
@stworkowski of the Tinker team endorsed it as 'a good algorithm'. Details and usage are in Tinker's official blog post.
